Night Shift

At 2:13 a.m., the laptop finds a carbonara recipe beneath four weather maps, eleven forum answers, a forgotten train timetable and the manual for an appliance nobody owns. The fan takes the night shift. Smoke leaves through the usual exit. Nothing closes. Any tab could become essential the instant it disappears, so the session survives by becoming somebody else’s problem.
